We went to a Murder Mystery Dinner for Valentines Day and it was a Blast we were the Love's I was Myrtle and Dave was Eugene and I was a crazy old woman who was retired from the Perfume Counter at a department store and Dave was a Retired candy store owner. We had a great time and really got into our character! Thanks everyone for a great time!

These boots were made for walking.....

We had a really good snow fall last week and because we were sick no one could go out and play so we got our boots and hats on anyways and played around the house.

Bald Spot

It all started during the Christmas holiday when we tried to give him a haircut and he freaked out so half of the back of his head we shaved and the rest looked like a scraggle muffin. Well after looking at it everyday it was driving me nuts so I thought i would try and fix it myself because I did not know when I would get down to have the rest of his hair cut. Well look what happens when I get a hold of the cutters. Yes it is true I gave my little boy a terrible bald spot because I thought for a split second I was a hairdresser. My sister makes it looks so easy and I thought I would give it a try. Boy was I wrong and the out come, his hair looks even worse, so now I have to decide what to do. Do I just shave his head or just get his haircut the usual way and ignore the bald spot. One thing I do know for sure not picking up the clippers ever again!

Christmas

Warning this is a long post.......

This has taken me a while to get "How our Christmas went" posted but it is because we have been very sick at our house it all started on Christmas day when I woke up with the flu/food poisoning and could not watch the kids open their presents because I had a permanent date with the porcelain throne. But after a few hours I was better and so we headed down to be with the grandparents. I know what you are thinking why would I go down and share the nasty with everyone but I did!

Then we threw Dave a surprise party that Sunday because he is now the big 3-0 and when we got to the party Maddison's eye started over flowing with green goop. Not knowing what it was and not wanting to share with the others I decided to take her to the insta-care and she had bacterial conjunctivitis aka pink eye. So after scaring the whole family off with green goopy eye and the flu we decided to pack up and come back home where we could wallow in our sicknesses. Then of course Jaxton got pink eye and I started to get really sick again and sure enough a viral infection was taking over my body. By then we were ready to throw in the towel and Dave was the only one keeping it together. Or so we thought keep reading it gets better!

New Years Eve Dave got hit with the sick bug and Jaxton was struggling to breathe so we waited until new Years morning to take Jax to the ER and after an x-ray, a breathing treatment, and lots of crying we found out that he has pneumonia. So pumping everyone with antiboitics and lots of rest we are trying not to driving each other crazy, and climb the walls because we can't leave the house until everyone feels better!

BUT......other than illnesses we had a great Christmas, Santa made it to our house and so did Lacey, Tyler, Aspyn and grandpa and grandma. It was so fun to have all of Daves family up for Christmas Eve. Maddison and Jaxton loved playing with their cousin Aspyn and could not get enough of her. I am glad December is over and ready to start fresh with a new year!

I got the Boot!

Yes I got the boot! I was thinking that I was a ballerina from the nutcracker and Maddison her friends and I were bustn' out our sweet moves when I went to do a turn and heard a pop. After that my foot hurt for a while but I thought it would go away. Well after two weeks of pain I decided to go into the doctor. Thinking it was nothing we did an x-ray and low and behold I had broke the top of my foot. But it had started to heal so I was given the BOOT! I was excited because a cast did not sound fun at all. Although the boot is better it still is hard to walk on ice and in the snow!! Incase you are wondering....I have learned my lesson and becoming a profession ballerina when I grow up is now out of the question!!

Fire Station Phobia

Today Maddison's Preschool went on a field trip to the fire station and we were told of it last Thursday and for days every time the field trip was mentioned she would cry and say she did not want to go. We finally found out why she did not want to go and that was because she thought she had to go into the station that was on fire and it scared her to death. So last night we drove passed the fire station and showed her that it was not on fire and that it was where they parked the firetrucks. After she saw it she was ready for the field trip she had a blast. They talked to the kids about what the firemen wear, what they sound like with their masks on, that you should have a meeting place if there is an emergency and what the inside of a fire truck looks like.

Project Teddy Bear

Hey I am collecting stuffed animals For the Famuly Support & Treatment Center in Orem and Midvale. If any of you have any stuffed animals you would like to get rid of please let me know I will be taking them down this Saturday. Anything will help please donate!

What it is.......

Both centers have the mission of preventing and treating child abuse through education, therapy and outreach. Crisis nurseries are available for children who have been abused, are in danger of being abused or are awaiting placement in a foster home. A soft teddy bear to hug during these times of trauma or loneliness is a great comfort to the children. At-risk children also undergo therapy sessions at the centers throughout the year. A teddy bear gives them something to hold during sessions, provides much-needed comfort and helps in the healing process. It may also be the onlyChristmas present a child receives.

Last year, Bank of American Fork collected more than 6,000 stuffed animals. Sadly, that was not enough to provide a stuffed animal to each child that walked through the centers’ doors. Each center sees an average of 50 children each day.
