The Binky Fairy

Well we finally did it a few days ago the binky fairy decided to come to our house and take the binky away!! Maddison was so excited to send her binky off in the mail she wrote the address on it and then we walked to the mail box. Then the Fairy came and took it away and replaced it with a present!! This was all fun and games until it hit bed time and all hell broke loose. Sorry for the language but it was a disaster. I have never seen my child act that way before she was out of control. I wanted to give in so bad and say jsut kidding here is another binky but Dave was my strength and said that is will be good for her. It has been three days now and it is getting better not to much drama but Maddisons outlook on bed time has now changed. She does not want to take naps.... she wakes up way to early 6:00 a.m. and she lays in her bed and yells things every five minutes. I hope that it will get better it is the hardest thing I have had to do thus far!!
Maddison addressed and stamped the package to the Binky Fairy and was ready to head to the mail box.

Sending it away and saying good bye for the last time!!

I am so sorry. I had thought of doing the Binki Fairy thing, but Kamri only has it at bedtime now and she can't have it any other time than when she is in her bed. When she turns three I will have to devise a plan to get it away for good!

So sorry. I've yet to experience the binky send off. Neither of my boys were binky babies. Brynn is doing good with one so far! Thank goodness, but I do dread this part of the process. Stay strong!

I was so afraid to take away the binky with Ellie. I dreaded the thought of horrible night sleep and uncontrollable tantrums. The first night without the binky...was just as I had imagined! No sleep, I never knew Ellie to act so sad about something and I wanted to find her binky and give it back. I kept telling myself I can make it at least a week! After that, I would give in and try again later.

The next day came and we were at Grandma's house and I saw one of her binky's lying around. I decided to cut the tip off and left it for her to find. When she found it she tried to suck on it, but it wasn't the same. All she said was "happen?" I said, aww it's broken. She just kept looking at it and the rest was history.

That night was as if she had never had a binky! We slept peacefully ever after. (As far as binky matters go anyway). I was shocked.

Sorry for the long comment. I've been meaning to post this story on my blog...now somehow it ended up on yours.

The point was, I feel your pain, at least for one night. That really sucks! But I am jealous that she's potty trained! I'm REALLY struggling in that department. Any suggestions?
