Caution these photos might make you squeamish. In a matter of a week the comfort of our life flipped and flopped. Dave went into the doctor because his shoulder was causing him grief after a few basketball games and so he decided to get it checked out and while he was at the doctor he got a physical and the doctor noticed a mole that he thought they should check so they took a punch biopsy and a week later it came back that it was cancer.o the doctor called me and told me Dave has cancer and we need to get him into a surgeon and get it removed. So the surgeon called me and they got in him the next day. Well in the mean time I am thinking that it is not a big deal that they will remove it in the office and he will be good for go. My thoughts changed when Dave walked into the door with a terrible look on his face and told me it was serious and that he will be going in for surgery on Tuesday. Then I started to panic and tried the best I could to hold it together but to think that your husband could die is a terrible thing!
So on Tuesday Dave went in to the hospital they injected the site with dye to watch where it went and it traveled to the lumph nodes. They took him in for surgery at 11:10 and he did not come back until 3:30. It was a long surgery and he has a great battle wound to show off. They took out 5 lymph nodes and all the cancer. The best news is that the lymph nodes came back ok. So for now Dave is doing great and that cancer is gone. But he is at high risk for more cancer so he has to be checked every 6 months to be safe! I am so grateful for him and that he was so strong through the whole thing. I am grateful I get to have him around for a long time!

I have been thinking about you and your family since you posted the news on FB. I am glad to hear the cancer is gone for the time being. I love you guys and will continue to keep you in my prayer and in my thoughts!
That is scary! Cancer is not really news that you want to hear. I am glad everything is going good now for the time being. We will keep you & Dave in our prayers!
OH MY GOSH! Glad that the surgery went well. What a roller coaster of emotions! We'll keep you guys in our prayers! Let me know if you need anything!
SOOOOOOO glad to hear everything turned out for the best!! You guys have been in out prayers since we heard. Camden says "bless Madisons daddy that he won't have that sick in his body" it's super sweet!! But we are very glad he doesn't have that sick in his body anymore!!
oh my goodness! glad he is ok. what a scary thing for all of you. please know you guys are in my prayers!
Oh how scary! I am glad the surgery went well and the news is good.
So glad you were able to catch it and remove it! My thoughts and prayers are with you guys that the continuing checkups will bring good news.
OH.MY.WORD. Chany, that is so totally freaky!! First of all, kudos to Dave for not having the typical male thoughts of, "it's nothing, it'll go away on it's own"... um, he was totally prompted to get his shoulder checked out to catch it in time!! Second of all, you are an AMAZING lady... I would never wish what you have been through emotionally on my worst enemy. No one EVER wants to face the reality of losing their absolute most intimate loved one! So glad it's all looking up; hopefully you will never have to walk down that road again... prayers and hugs comin' your way!!
PS. Super sweet birthday post from Dave... he's a keeper!! Happy late b-day, enjoy the last year of your youth, hahaha ;o)
So glad everything worked out for your cute little family! We were so worried!
I am so sorry. We will keep you guys in our prayers. What an awful thing to go through. Glad things are OK now. Take care you guys.
It sounds like you were very blessed with how everything unfolded. I'm still so sorry that happened, but everything sounds good now! Thank goodness!!!!
I am so glad that his lymph nodes were clear. I can't imagine how scary that was for you both. Sure makes you grateful for your sweetheart, doesn't it.
Love ya girl!
So glad to hear you are ok Dave!
