Escalante

The annual Griffin Family reunion to Escalante was a few weeks ago and the kids had a blast running around playing with their cousins. A few fun things we do in escalante are..............
There is a Parade that goes down and back
The cannons start to go off around 5:30 a.m. and scare the scrudolies out of us {this year it even set off a car alarm!}
The Griffin Family has to reserve hotel rooms in January to make sure we all have rooms in July!
We love the boulder mountains and hopefully one day I will be able to drive over hells backbone
We love playing in the water at Calf Creek
We love being with family and just hanging out!
Oh and the kids loved the tire swing at the house!

Maddison could not handle the gun shots that they do down the parade route she had to cover her ears the first time they came around and when they were coming back she decided to head back to the house so she did not have to hear them!

A day at Aunt Dawns

Last weekend we went up to Dave's aunts Cabin in Huntsville for a family get together and the kids looked forward to it all week. They went up on Friday and had a sleep over on the deck and looked out at the stars with their (Cousins) and they went down the big slip n slide, rode horses, jummped on the tramp and had a wonderful time! It is so beautiful and peaceful up there!

When Dad watches the kids

Maddison and I went school shopping and out to lunch and left the others home with dad. When we came home this is what we found. The lawn had been mowed and the house looked great but poor little Jax was waiting for dad to get done with the yard so he could run through the sprinklers. Yes this is him asleep in the garage. Poor thing he was so tired!!

I love to see the Temple

The kids ask every day when is Moroni going to be placed on the temple and the other day I was pleased to say that today was the day. We wanted to get a good seat so we picked up the crew and headed out about 10:00. We got there and got out all of our stuff and the kids had fun running around and then the rain started. It was just a few drops and then about an hour later it started raining really hard. We only had two umbrellas and so we tried to buddy up but it was a little cramped. So Brynlee, Jax and I were standing out and enjoying the rain but that got old quick when the rain did not let up. So a kind lady let us borrow her umbrella and we tried to say dry. Needless to say we did not and we were soaked but we did not mind because we were going to see Angel Moroni in just a few minutes placed on the temple. Well we waited and waited but the weather was not cooperating and the kids were getting tired and wanted to go home so we packed up and left. Sadly we did not get to see Moroni fly through the air but Maddison and I were able to catch them do the finishing touches on our way to violin. It was quite an adventure and it was fun to see how big he really is on the ground. The kids want to drive by every day to look at the temple.

Little Miss

This year we put Maddison and Brynlee in the Perry Days little Miss contest it is just a cute pageant where they have all the little kids come and they tell about each one and then they put all their names in a hat and draw out the winners and....... Maddison won!! She was this years Little Miss Liberty. She was so excited and she was very cute. When we got her dressed for the pageant she said "oh mom I hope I win that would be so great" and here i was giving her the pep talk "now even if we don't win it is ok and at least we had fun right?" Then she gave me that look like "what ever" and then walked away. But she did win and she so happy.

The Fourth

This year we went to the Lindon City pool for the 4th and the kids had a blast as you can see from the pics. Brynlee hated the water at first but just as we were about to go home she started to enjoy herself.

Viva Las Vegas

We took my mom to Phantom down in Vegas for her 50th Birthday and we had a ton of fun. We went to Phantom, hung out at the pool and baked in the 114 degree heat. Thanks goes out to my Dad who was our personal chauffeur for the trip and my roomie Jessica for putting up with me and my crazyness!
